Route
- Cross to the mainland on Manatee Ave (SR-64), or Cortez Rd from Bradenton Beach.
- Head east to US-301.
- Go south on US-301 and turn onto 72nd Ave E.
Island traffic in season can add a lot of time on the bridges. A mid-morning weekday drop-off is usually easiest.
Island Air Never Lets Up
On Anna Maria Island, salt mist settles on everything parked outside, and fine sand rides in on shoes, towels and tires. Salt left on paint attracts moisture and dulls the finish; sand wiped across paint scratches it. A coated surface lets you rinse both away instead of wiping, which is the habit that keeps island paint looking good.

How long is the drive from Anna Maria Island?
About 30 minutes from Holmes Beach and closer to 40 from the north end of Anna Maria in normal traffic, via Manatee Ave (SR-64) to US-301 south. Season and bridge traffic can add time.
Does a ceramic coating protect against salt air?
It adds a chemically resistant, hydrophobic layer that makes salt residue much easier to rinse off. It's not a force field: regular fresh-water rinses and maintenance washes are still the key on the island.
