Soft Paint, Florida Sun
Tesla's factory paint is well known for being on the thin, soft side. It looks great on delivery day, then picks up wash marks and swirls faster than most owners expect.
Soft paint isn't bad paint, but it's less forgiving. A gas-station brush wash, a dry towel or a dusty quick-detailer wipe leaves marks you'll see in the afternoon sun. Add Suncoast UV, lovebug season on that smooth front end, salt air and sprinkler water, and an unprotected Tesla can look tired in its first year.
A FEYNLAB® coating puts a hard, slick, chemically bonded layer on top of the clear coat. Water beads and sheets off, bugs and bird droppings release easier, and a proper hand wash takes a fraction of the effort, so there's less rubbing on soft paint. It isn't scratch-proof and it won't stop rock chips (that's what PPF is for), but it helps resist the light marring that comes from everyday washing.

We Coat Wrapped Cybertrucks Only
The Cybertruck's body is bare stainless steel, not painted clear coat, so we only coat Cybertrucks that are already wrapped. The coating goes on over the wrap to make it easier to clean and add hydrophobic protection. Tell us what film or wrap is on the truck when you book.
Wrapped Cybertrucks are priced in the SUV / Truck tier: $1,650 for the 5 Year Ultra V3, $1,400 for the 3 Year, $799 for the 1 Year.
Wrapped Cybertrucks are covered by Outlaw Detailing's own warranty. We stand behind the coating on your truck ourselves.
The Best Time Is Right After Delivery
The sooner a Tesla is coated, the fewer wash marks get sealed in. Even a brand-new car can have light swirls or haze from transport and prep, so every coating starts with an inspection under our shop lights. If the paint is clean, the included gloss enhancement is all it needs. If we find swirls, we'll show you and recommend the 1-step polish or 2-step correction before the coating goes on.
Everything happens inside our shop, out of the sun and the afternoon storms: wash and decontamination, gloss enhancement or correction, the FEYNLAB® coating panel by panel, and a controlled cure before pickup. Drop-off and pickup are Monday–Friday, 8 AM–6 PM.

How much does it cost to ceramic coat a Tesla?
A Model 3 or Model S is priced as a car: $1,500 for the 5 Year FEYNLAB® Ultra V3, $1,250 for the 3 Year Ceramic V3 and $699 for the 1 Year Original. A Model Y, Model X or wrapped Cybertruck is priced as an SUV / truck: $1,650, $1,400 and $799. 3-row vehicles fall in the 3rd Row tier. Gloss enhancement is included; a 1-step polish (+$250) or 2-step correction (+$400) is optional.
Is Tesla paint really softer than other brands?
Tesla's paint is widely known for being on the thinner, softer side, and it shows wash marks and swirls easily. That's why how you wash it matters and why protection pays off. A coating doesn't make paint harder, but it adds a slick, hard layer on top that resists light wash marring and makes washing easier.
Do you ceramic coat Cybertrucks?
Yes, but only wrapped Cybertrucks. The coating goes on over the wrap. Wrapped Cybertrucks are priced in the SUV / Truck tier, starting at $799 for the 1 Year and $1,650 for the 5 Year Ultra V3. Wrapped Cybertrucks are covered by Outlaw Detailing's own warranty.
My Tesla is brand new. Does it still need paint correction?
Not always. Every package includes gloss enhancement, and that's enough for clean paint. We inspect every car under shop lighting first. If there are swirls or haze from transport or delivery prep, we'll recommend the 1-step polish (+$250) or 2-step correction (+$400) so they aren't locked in under the coating.
Will my Tesla qualify for the FEYNLAB® warranty?
The 3 Year and 5 Year packages qualify for FEYNLAB®'s manufacturer warranty when the vehicle meets FEYNLAB®'s terms: under 3 years old, original factory paint, registered within 30 days of install, and a yearly inspection with us. We handle the registration for you. Every coating, on any Tesla, also carries the Outlaw Detailing warranty, and that's the warranty that covers wrapped Cybertrucks.
Can you coat my Tesla at my house?
No. Coatings and paint correction are done only in our shop, out of the sun, rain and blowing debris, so the coating can bond and cure properly. Mobile service (Wednesday–Friday) is for detailing only.
